From tree-top fun to exhilarating indoor skydiving, these adventures are sure to get your adrenaline pumping!
Skydiving, Minus the Plane
The first of its kind experience in Oregon, iFly Indoor Skydiving offers a free-falling experience featuring a vertical wind tunnel that generates a “cushion of air.” The entire experience—including all flight gear and training session—lasts approximately one to two hours (two-minute flight time). No experience is needed, and all abilities are welcome.
It may make your palms sweat and your heart skip a beat, but a zip-line adventure in the trees is an experience that cannot be matched. Take a deep breath and prepare your senses for an unparalleled adventure.
Tree to Tree Adventure Park is a unique “playground in the trees.” It opened as an aerial ropes course in 2009 as the first-of-its-kind attraction in the Tualatin Valley. Today, the park offers myriad adventures for the entire family, such as six aerial rope courses each with 10 tree-top obstacles to master; guided zip-line tours, with six “extreme” zip lines; dueling zips; tree-top bungee plunge from a 65-foot-high platform; and a 40-foot climbing tree. (2021 season opening March 13, some features not currently open)
The region’s newest zip-line adventure is Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour. Soar through the forest of trees in this family-friendly, guided zip tour through the tree on this 2- to 2.5-hour tour featuring seven zip lines through a beautiful forest and near the breathtaking Brunswick Canyon. Open year-round, zip from platform to platform for a unique and memorable way to experience the verdant natural landscape of the Tualatin Valley.
Glide Through the Tualatin Valley Skies
The city of North Plains has the region’s only private-use glider airport. Take flight in a glider plane, also known as sailplanes, for a quiet and peaceful ride over Tualatin Valley. Willamette Valley Soaring Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of glider flying, offers glider rides on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from April to October.
View the expansive Tualatin Valley via a helicopter piloted by Oregon Helicopters. Oregon Helicopters provides a bird’s eye view of the valley with its Tualatin Valley Tour, which flies visitors over expansive vineyards, fertile croplands, coastal forests and high-tech parks, with five snow-capped volcanic peaks rising in the distance in full view. All flights depart from the Hillsboro Airport. Tours are offered daily, year-round, from sunrise to sunset.
Or you can grab your cameras and hop aboard with NW Wings Aviation for an Adventure Flight over beautiful Portland, Oregon! Enjoy a bird’s eye view of landmarks such as The Columbia River, Sauvie Island, Downtown Portland, Bridges of Portland, and Lake Oswego. All flights take off from Hillsboro Airport and flight time is approximately 40 minutes from engine start to stop.
Adventure seekers need to look no further than Tualatin Valley, where exciting high-flying adventure awaits.
COVID-19 Note: Face coverings are required in all indoor and outdoor areas where physical distancing is not possible.
